Iowans with Disabilities in Action

Events

We’re counting on YOU to take action in your community and state this year. Check out the ID Action calendar of events!

Would you be interested in hosting an event in your community? Contact us! ID Action can help facilitate and coordinate any of the following events:

Advocacy Trainings

Advocacy trainings will provide you with the resources and tools you need to effectively deliver your message.  The training will include an overview of the legislative process, message development, building momentum in your community and how to effectively reach out to your legislators.

Legislative Updates

Schedule a legislative update and stay up-to-date on what is happening in the Iowa legislature. Legislative updates can be held in person or via conference call.

Candidate/Elected Officials Forum

Bring together elected officials or candidates that are running for office from the local, state and national level to hear where they stand on disability related issues.

Town Hall Meetings

Organize a town hall meeting and hear what community leaders and elected officials have to say on issues that are important to you or your organization.

Voter Trainings

Voter trainings will provide you with a better understanding of the election process, your voting rights and a hands-on experience using the new voting machines.

Grants are available to you or your organization to help offset the costs of hosting an event. Check out the grants page to get more information on how to apply.
